UCW (United Church Women)

UCW is a gathering of women who share a variety of experiences through faith exploration and outreach projects. Together, the women learn to care for themselves while developing friendships, communicating and respecting their differences. The profits from the two Children's Used Clothing Sales held during the year are distributed by the UCW to meet the needs of the Heritage congregation and to numberous outreach projects. Gatherings are held approx. four times per year. All women in the congregation are welcome.

Men's Breakfast Group

This group is open to all men of the congregation who wish to share a variety of experiences through faith exploration and outreach projects. Through these gatherings, the men learn to care for themselves while developing friendships, communicating and respecting their differences. The men cook and serve the annual Mother's Day Brunch.

The Men's Breakfast Group will meet the third Saturday of each month and all men in the congregation are invited to this time of fellowship.

Outreach

Prayer Shawl Ministry

We knit and crochet shawls and lap blankets to offer to people as a comfort in sad or difficult times. If you have yarn you no longer want, we accept donations. If you knit or crochet and want to contibute to this ministry, we would be honored to accept your handiwork. The shawls and lap blanket are blessed in our church worship service before they are given out.

Children's Christmas Shopping Spree

During the year, we accept donations of gently used items suitable for gift giving. A committee of 'elves' sets up a Christmas store and on a Saturday morning in late Nov or early Dec, the children can come shop for Christmas presents. Parents or grandparents are NOT allowed in the store! An elf will take your children into the store with their list and help them pick out and gift wrap presents for everyone on their list, then bring the child back to you ready for Christmas excitement! The elves will tell you the total owed when they bring the children back to you.

On Saturday, December 9 we helped 179 children shop for and  wrap over 1300 presents! Thank you to all who volunteered and all who attended!
